To log in to My Medibank, you need to ensure you have registered for My Medibank.
If you've already registered and followed the steps below, contact us to verify the information we hold on your membership.
You can register and login in three easy steps:
Step 1: Add your details, as listed on your policy
Step 2: Activate your account
An activation link will automatically be sent to your registered email address. Click the activation link in the email to complete registration. Once you've done this, you'll be able to log in. The link is only valid for 7 days.
If the activation link has expired or you can't find it, you'll need to restart the registration process.

Step 3: Multi-factor authentication
My Medibank uses SMS multi-factor authentication. Multi-factor authentication is an extra layer of security for your My Medibank login. Along with your password, we'll use your email address and mobile number (as listed on your policy) to verify your login. This helps prevent unauthorised persons logging on to My Medibank.
You can find your membership number on your digital/physical membership card, or your join confirmation communication.
If you are having difficulty finding this information, you can contact us.
Please allow a few minutes for the email to arrive. If you don't appear to have received it, check your junk/spam folders, or search for an email from noreply@medibank.com.au.
The activation link will expire after 7 days. After this time, you'll need to restart the registration process again.
Check that the acitvation link was sent to you less than 7 days ago. If the activation link is older than 7 days, you'll need to restart the registration process again.
Fill in this form with the email address you used to register for My Medibank, and we'll send you a link to reset your password. This link is valid for 7 days.
Your password for My Medibank must:
Have you recently updated your password? It's possible that when you updated your password it didn't save to your AutoFill extension or password manager. It's also possible that your device is remembering your previous password and is blocking access to the updated password details.

For quicker login you can activate device authentication in the My Medibank app. To set-up simply tap on Me, Settings and Device Authentication, if Passcode enabled.
To recover your email address complete this form with your details, including your membership number (you can find this on your digital/physical membership card or on your join confirmation letter).
You've received this message because your email address is already associated with a My Medibank registration. Your email could be linked to a previous Medibank policy, or you may share an email address with a family member who has previously registered.

For privacy and security reasons each member on a policy needs to have their own individual and registered (as listed on the policy) email address to log in to My Medibank.
If someone on your policy doesn't have a My Medibank account connected to their individual email address, they can easily register and create an account using their email and policy details.
You can quickly and easily change your email address on My Medibank. Log in and click or tap on "Me". You'll be able to change your email on the contact details section. Once you save your new email address, a verification email will be sent to this address. You'll need to click or tap on the verification link within 7 days to confirm the change.

Your device needs to be running iOS 16 or above, or Android 10 or above. If not, please follow the instructions for How to register for My Medibank on the web.
Sometimes, your web browser and system settings can prevent you from logging into My Medibank on the web.
If you're experiencing issues, here are some things you can try:
My Medibank uses multi-factor authentication to help keep your account secure. This adds an extra layer of protection to your My Medibank login. Along with your email and password, we'll send a one-time verification code by SMS to your registered mobile number (as listed on your policy) to verify your login. This helps prevent unauthorised access to your account.
When you register using the app, depending on your device you will be able to set up login with PIN, password, fingerprint/touch ID or face recognition/ID. This will dictate how you login each time you use the app.
For a more secure and faster login you can also set-up biometric authentication in the app. To set-up go to Me > tap on Settings > and then select Device Authentication if Passcode enabled.
Frequently changing your password and creating a strong password is good practice to help prevent scammers from accessing your accounts and to stay safe online.
OSHC members have their own dedicated portal. If you have a Medibank Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), log in to the OSHC portal to make claims and manage your OSHC membership. If you have Medibank extras cover, log in to My Medibank to make extras claims.
